Pvt. Cephas/4s Brooks, born 10 Jan 1755 at Northfield, Massachusetts3,1, was recorded at Hinsdale, Vermont, in the 1790 census, with two boys under 16 and two females.4 In 1800 Cephas and his brother Alpheus were recorded at Middlebury. Cephas's household included himself and his wife, two sons, and two daughters.5 Cephas died in 18112, and is buried in East Middlebury.2

John/3s Brooks was born 21 Mar 1702/3 at Springfield, Massachusetts1, where he married, as her 1st husband, 19 Jul 1722 (int. 18 May), Rebecca Ferry, daughter of Thomas Ferry and Mary (–?–), with whom he had 10 children.2 John Brooks died at Wilbraham 11 Oct 1745, a. 42.3

Property1728, Palmer, MANo. 3. Brooks, John. Land, 250 acres; bought of Gent. Claimers, 1728, 50 acres and confirmed to him by the General Court. It is known of late as the Reuben Rogers farm. It is bounded 80 rods on the Quaboag river. Sold to Hugh McMaster, 1741, it being his first place of residence.4

Eliakim/4s Brooks was born 11 Nov 1736 at Winchester, New Hampshire (also rec. this date at Deerfield, Massachusetts; and this date at Winchester as his sister Abigail).1,4 Of Montague, Massachusetts, he married, by 1761, Elizabeth (–?–), with whom he had 6 or more children (three of these living in 1778).5
     He died at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, 1 Jul 1778, a. 41.2 His widow relocated to Greenfield, Massachusetts, where two daughters were subsequently married. His only son Jonathan went to Onondaga County, New York, where he was living at Fabius in 1820.

Eunice/4s Brooks was born 2 May 1739 at Winchester, New Hampshire.1 Then of Montague, Massachusetts, she married, 2 Feb 1758 at Northfield, Benjamin Rose of N., son of Joseph Rose and Patience (–?–), with whom she had 9 children.2 She was probably living in son Nathaniel's household at Winhall, Vermont, 1800.3
