Isaac/4c Brooks, born 24 Aug 1745 at Wallingford, Connecticut2,1, married, 19 Apr 1775 (c.r., Cheshire), Jemima Wright.3,2 Their marriage date was the day of the Lexington Alarm and Concord fight. Their 1790 census household at Bristol included Isaac and one other male over 16, four males under 16, and three females.4 Isaac died in 1797 (Bristol c.r.)2
     Isaac's nephew Reuben Brooks deposed, in 1832, that in the first week of July, 1779, he (Reuben) enlisted and served three months as private in Capt. Abner Bunnell's company, Col. Ward's Connecticut regiment, stationed at New Haven, as a substitute for Isaac Brooks.5

     Her will, dated 29 Oct 1816 and signed by mark, leaves land, "nine acres more or less," to son Marcus, and then, in order, to his wife Betsy, and to their children, equally divided; and her estate in equal parts to Marcus and daughter Philomena, wife of Samuel Hughes. Obadiah Hotchkiss to be executor, witnesses Charles Bostwick, Amelia Scott and Elisha Munson.5
     Mehitabel died 3 Nov 1816 (g.s.), a. 752, and John 11 Nov 1817.6 They are buried in Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven.2,7

Rev. David/4c Brooks, born 14 Aug 1744 at Wallingford, Connecticut4, and baptised the same month at the Congregational church, Cheshire1,5, took his M.A. at Yale, 1768.6,7 He married, 20 Jan 1773 at Wallingford, Elizabeth/4 Doolittle, daughter of Daniel/3 Doolittle and Elizabeth Dayton,1,8, and served as a Wallingford deputy in the October 1777 session of the General Assembly.9
     The 1790 census recorded their household at Cheshire, with two males over 16, two males under, and seven females.1,10 David died at Cheshire 22 Dec 1801 (g.s.), a. 577,1, and she 15 Aug 1831, a. 82.1 They are buried in Hillside Cemetery.11,12
     "He had a large family of children, nearly all of whom removed to western New York. The eldest, well known in the neighborhood of Rochester as General Micah Brooks, and his brother, Benedict, became large land holders and secured for themselves an honorable mention among the prominent and public spirited pioneers of what was then the far west."13
