Dea. Samuel/1 Wright, born in 1606 at Brentwood, Essex1, married, in England by 1626, Margaret Stratton, with whom he had 9 children.1 He emigrated to New England, where, with his son-in-law Thomas/2 Stebbins, in 1654 at Springfield, Massachusetts, he posted a surety bond of £4 for the appearance of his son Samuel Wright Jr. to be publicly whipped for fornication.2 He went to Northampton, Massachusetts in 16563, and, 17 Oct 1665, "died in his chair," a. 59.4 His widow died there 24 Jul 1681.5
