Jerusha/4c Brooks, born circa 1754 at Wallingford, Connecticut1, married Pvt. Simeon Hotchkiss.1
     According to his pension file, soon after the close of the Revolutionary War, Simeon moved to Hampton, Washington County, New York, where he resided 5 years2, then moved to Whitehall, in the same county, where he resided the remainder of his life.2 Jerusha's brother Stephen/4c Brooks followed the same migration path.
     The 1800 census recorded Simeon's household at Whitehall: a male and a female each 45+, and a boy and girl each 10-16 years of age.3
     Jerusha died there 25 Jul 18304, and Simeon 6 Mar 1843.5 They are buried in Brick Church Cemetery, which was set off from Simeon's farm. Jerusha's brother Stephen is also buried at Whitehall.5
