Mrs. Anne Deane, a widow of New York, married, 23 Dec 1744 at Stratford, Connecticut, David/3f Brooks of Stratford, son of Benjamin/2f Brooks and Mary Booth. He died 11 Jun 1766, a. 461, and she 6 Oct 1766 (g.s.), "47th y."2 They are buried in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery, Stratford.3,4

Catharine/4f Brooks, born 9 Apr 1750 at Stratford, Connecticut1, married, as the 2nd of his 5 wives, Rev. John Beardsley Jr., a native of the Stratford area and Episcopal minister at Poughkeepsie, New York, son of John Beardsley and Keziah (–?–).2,3 She died at Poughkeepsie 5 Feb 1774, a. 23.3 Her death notice (right), which identifies her not by name but in her roles as the wife of Rev. Beardsley and eldest daughter of the late David Brooks of Stratford, deceased, relates the circumstances of her death from puerperal fever following childbirth.3 John Beardsley married thrice more and died in New Brunswick 23 Apr 1809, on his 77th birthday.2

David/4f Brooks Jr. was born 21 Dec 1747 at Stratford, Connecticut.1 His father's will named him executor with his uncle John Brooks, and they petitioned the General Assembly of May-June 1769 for leave to sell real estate of the testator's in the amount of £407-9-7 to pay debts over and above the value of the moveable estate.3

Pvt. Ebenezer/4s Brooks III, born 6 Jul 1731 at Ridgefield, Connecticut1, went with his brother Daniel to Westchester County, New York, where he married, 24 May 1753 (S. Salem c.r.), Elizabeth Loder, also a Ridgefield native, daughter of John Loder and Elizabeth (–?–).3 His wife was admitted 17 Sep 1758 to the 1st Church of Christ at South Salem, New York.4 Commissariat records of deceased soldiers, 1756-1762, "whose heirs received the pay due them at the time of their death," include Ebenezer Brooks under the year 1760.5 His widow died 26 Nov 1778 (S. Salem c.r.), a. 45.4
     Ebenezer "probably never actually moved more than a few miles in his life."6
