Victory/2 Sikes was born 3 Mar 1648/49 at Springfield, Massachusetts3,1, where he married (1), 29 Jan 1672, Elizabeth/3 Burt of Springfield, daughter of Dea. Jonathan/2 Burt and Elizabeth/2 Lobdell.4,5,6 A carpenter by trade, he with his brother Increase contracted to build a barn at Springfield, 52 x 24 feet, for Major John Pynchon.7
     He had a grant, 1680, of 50 acres "beyond, or at ye upper end of High streete," Suffield, Connecticut.8 He was an original purchaser there from John Pynchon, who bought the tract which became Suffield from the Indians for £30, then had it surveyed and subdivided for sale to settlers. Pynchon's account reconciliation, dated Feb 1681, notes that Victory Sikes had paid 16s. 8d. for an unspecified amount of land.9 One of 34 qualified voters at Suffield's first town meeting, 9 Mar 1681/82, Victory Sikes moved his family there that year.
     His wife died at Suffield 29 Sep 1683, a. 3010, and he married (2), 16 Jul 1684 at Springfield, Elizabeth/2 Granger of Suffield, daughter of Lancelot/1 Granger and Joanna Adams,11,12 and (3), 22 Dec 1692 at Springfield, Mary (–?–), widow of Judah/2 Trumbull of Suffield.13 He died at Suffield 25 Apr 1708, a. 59.14

Property1 Aug 1699, Suffield, CTJoseph Sheldon bought, August 1, 1699, for the sum of fifty-five pounds, of Victory Sikes, his house-lot of twenty-one acres with a mansion thereon.15

Capt. Thomas/2 Colton, born 1 May 1651 at Longmeadow, Massachusetts2,1, married (1), 11 Sep 1677, Sarah Griswold of Lyme, Connecticut, daughter of Matthew Griswold,3 who died 12 Sep 1690, one day following the birth of a stillborn child.4 He married (2), 17 Dec 1691, Hannah/3 Bliss, daughter of Lawrence/2 Bliss and Lydia/2 Wright.5,6,7 He died 30 Sep 1728 (g.s.), a. 778, and his widow Hannah 6 Nov 1737, a. 72.9 Originally buried in Longmeadow Cemetery, Thomas and Hannah were among the remains "removed from the old burial places at the foot of Elm Street in 1848" and reinterred in Springfield Cemetery.10
