Annie M. Davis, born in New Hampshire circa 18381, married, by 1852, George W/6k Brooks, son of Levi/5k Brooks and Shuah Leach.2,1
     The 1860 census recorded George W. (a. 29, butcher, r.e. $800, p.e. $300), wife Anna (a. 21), and children Emmer C. (8, student), Burleigh W. (6, student), Herbert L. (4, student), Jane A. (2) and Amy F. (3 mos.) in their household at Eliot, Maine. Next door was George's mother Shuah, and, in the dwelling beyond, his uncle William Brooks.1
     In 1870 their household at Rockport, Massachusetts,included George W. (a. 39, provision dealer, r.e. $3500, p.e. $1500), Anna (a. 34), and children Burley (16, laborer), Herbert (14, drives meat cart), James (12, student), Anna (10, student), Emma (8, student), Carrie (5) and Jennie (3).3
     Annie M. Brooks ("Mother") died 1 Feb 1883, "aged 45 yrs." (g.s.)4 George W. Brooks died on 1 Jan 1885.5 They are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot.6

George W/6k Brooks, born circa Jul 1829 (per death rec; 1830, g.s.) at Eliot, Maine2,3, was one of two males between the ages of 5-10 counted in his parents' household at Eliot, Maine, 18404, and was recorded at Eliot (a. 19) in his widowed mother's household in 1850.1 He married, by 1852, Annie M. Davis.5,6
     The 1860 census recorded George W. (a. 29, butcher, r.e. $800, p.e. $300), wife Anna (a. 21), and children Emmer C. (8, student), Burleigh W. (6, student), Herbert L. (4, student), Jane A.      His wife Annie died 1 Feb 1883.8 A laborer, he died of consumption 1 Jan 1885 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, a. 55-5.3 They are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot.9
